EUCHARISTIC ADORATION SOCIETY

Personal prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament is a special gift.  We offer exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for the purpose of uninterrupted adoration on Mondays following the 8:00 a.m. Mass until Benediction at 6:30 p.m.   Each volunteer takes an assigned hour or half-hour of his/her choosing to pray before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  The commitment is ongoing.  Everyone is welcome to sign up for an hour or a half-hour.  If you cannot commit to a regular hour, you are welcome to come at any time for a visit.

EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE

The Evangelization Committee’s ministry and mission is proclaiming and witnessing Christ and his Gospel with the intention of deepening the faith of believers and inviting others to be baptized and initiated into the Church.

The Finance Council assists and guides the pastor in achieving the fiscally and managerially responsible stewardship of the parish’s material goods and financial resources.

GIRL SCOUTS

Girls in elementary school learn faith values by participating in activities geared to promote unity, citizenship, and service.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY

The Holy Name Society is a Catholic Men’s Organization.  It promotes respect for the Holy Name of God, faith in the Catholic Church, loyalty to one’s country, and respect for all lawful authority whether civil or religious.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic men adhering to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism in the parish and community. (See their web site)

LADIES OF ST. FRANCIS
The goals of the Ladies of St. Francis are the spiritual and social development of its members, as well as a commitment to the service of parishioners.

LEGION OF MARY

A Catholic lay apostolic organization which, under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, seeks to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members.  Its works include evangelization; visiting the sick, aged and imprisoned; religious education; facilitation of home visits of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue; and meeting other spiritual needs of the parish

PASTORAL COUNCIL

The Parish Pastoral Council works to further the mission of the parish and functions as a consulting body to advise and assist the pastor in areas of pastoral concern.

PASTORAL VISITORS GROUP

This group seeks to meet the needs of parishioners through home visits, bereavement assistance, and other spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

PRE-CANA

Couples planning a wedding must attend a Pre-Cana class.  Faith-based teaching, as to the importance of the sacrament, is taught by a team of married couples and a priest.  These one-day marriage preparation classes are held twice a year.

PRE-JORDAN

Parents of children to be baptized must attend a Pre-Jordan class.  Emphasis is given to the symbolism of the rite, the role of the sacrament in reaffirming membership in the family community and the responsibilities of parents and godparents.  Classes are held on the last Thursday of every other month at 7:00PM in the Helen Santangelo Meeting Room.

PRO-LIFE GROUP

Seeks to promote awareness and encourage action to uphold the dignity and sanctity of every human life from conception to natural death.

Religious instruction is provided for parish children attending non-parochial schools.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

RCIA is designed for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith, for adults who have never been baptized and those in special circumstances seeking Confirmation and/or Eucharist.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT

The Safe Environment program offers classes entitled “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” to parish volunteers and employees.

The Senior Citizens group is a fellowship organization for people age 55 and over.
